Sitter-to-Child Ratio
A second sitter is needed if your booking includes more than 4 children, or more than 2 children under the age of three.
Minimum Reservation
We have a 3-hour minimum, or for your sitter to be paid for 3 hours if you need them for less time.
Payment to Sitter
Your agency sitter will collect the hourly payment at the end of your service, and can accept electronic payment and cash.
Holiday Hourly Rate
- 1.5x the standard hourly rates on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving)
- 2x the standard hourly rates: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
Surcharge for Less Than 24 Hours Notice
For requests made with less than 24 hours notice, there is a $25 surcharge for expedited service.
Cancellation Payment
- If canceling with more than 48 hours notice, a $25 courtesy payment is due to your sitter
- If canceling with 1 to 48 hours notice, 3 hours or 50% of your booking is due to your sitter, whichever is more
- If canceling within 1 hour of your booking’s start time, full payment is due to your sitter
Credit for Canceling or Rescheduling a Booking
We understand that things come up. In most cases, a cancelled booking can be rescheduled without a new booking fee paid to the agency. The cancellation payment to the sitter applies, even when rescheduling with the same sitter for a later date.
Care for Child From Another Family
Residential clients may share an occasional booking and a sitter with another parent. Our intent is to accommodate occasional needs such as a playdate or a friend coming into town. If you and another family wish to book together regularly, we will ask that the family register and have an account.
To add a child to your booking, please contact the agency directly at least 24 hours before your booking’s start time. Your sitter is not authorized to care for additional children present at the time they arrive. If a sitter provides care for a child in this manner, the agency will assess your card on file for the added hourly rate for the sitter, a $250 fee, and the associated credit card processing fee.
The children named in your account must be your own children. Please do not list another family’s children in your account.
If you are sharing a booking with a parent who is not a registered client, you assume full responsibility and liability for their child during the booking.
Mileage Payment for Transporting Your Child
If your sitter transports your child in their personal vehicle, your sitter will track their mileage and you will reimburse them for mileage at 67 cents per mile – the 2024 IRS rate. Your sitter will collect this payment at the end of your booking.
Other Booking Policies
General Policies
- If arriving back early, you pay for your reservation as originally scheduled
- We cannot guarantee fulfillment of short notice requests, although we have a 95% fulfillment rate for requests made with less than 48 hours notice
- Booking with the same sitter depends on the sitter’s availability – we understand that consistency is best and will help to coordinate although we cannot guarantee the same sitter
- To prevent confusion or disputes, co-parents each register for their own account and do not share one account
