Do you keep part of my earnings?
No, our placement service does not reduce your hourly pay. The hourly wage range listed in each job posting is the rate you receive for the position.
How do I apply to job openings?
Open positions are listed here, on our Available Jobs page. You are welcome to complete a general application, here, even if you do not see a current opening that matches your goals. We often connect candidates with families through our internal network before positions are publicly posted to our website.
When you apply, we review your experience, availability, and preferences, and share your profile with families when there is a potential match. Families make the final decision on which candidates they would like to interview.
We also share job opportunities through Indeed, Instagram, and occasionally Facebook. Follow us for updates!
Can I join the sitter team while job hunting?
Our babysitting team is designed for sustained connections rather than short-term or temporary work.
If you expect to continue babysitting for at least ten hours per month after beginning your position, our sitter team may be a great fit.
To provide consistency for the families we serve, we seek childcare providers who anticipate remaining available for babysitting for at least one year.
How do you screen families?
Families complete a detailed placement inquiry and profile, followed by an in-depth video discovery call. We do not accept every prospective client into our service.
During our evaluation, we review personality traits, work style, and communication style, as well as the position’s responsibilities, compensation, benefits, and overall expectations. This allows us to determine whether the family is well-positioned to build a successful employer-employee relationship.
As longtime nannies and childcare professionals, we assess each family’s philosophy on childcare, the language they use when discussing the profession, and the level of respect they demonstrate for caregivers. We recruit only for households where we would feel confident and proud to work ourselves.
Do you provide training?
We offer a monthly learning opportunity featuring a trending and seasonal topic in the childcare industry through readings, live or recorded webinars, and self-paced online training. We focus on sharing free or low-cost learning to help childcare professionals continually enhance their resumes.
We are developing a scholarship program to support childcare professionals in pursuing continuing education and advanced training.
Our learning opportunities focus on areas that strengthen childcare professionals’ careers and overall well-being, including financial security and retirement, professionalism on the job, and mental wellness.
How do I receive my paycheck?
Your employer, the family, will oversee your payroll and benefits distribution. Payroll is typically weekly or can be biweekly.
We work with clients who agree to use payroll and to take responsibility for their employer taxes. We encourage families to use a professional payroll service for ease and consistency, and we partner with several services.
As a state-registered staffing firm, we do not intake candidates seeking to be paid “under the table” or “off the books.” Candidates pursuing positions through us must be comfortable being legally paid, with a W-2 with required taxes withheld.
How often do you post new job listings?
We typically place one to three candidates each month. Rather than relying on a large database with automated matching, each placement is built and matched individually.
